UTS AERO LLC was founded by Norman Wear, a PhD and an aerospace professional with a career spanning multiple decades. Norman didn’t just study aerospace-he lived it. As a military combat veteran, Airline Transport
Pilot (ATP) and flight instructor, he spent decades navigating both war zones and civilian airspace, where precision was not optional-it was survival. With a doctorate in Aerospace Management and a career that bridges the cockpit, the classroom, and the command center, Norman brings a blend of technical mastery and leadership insight. His experience forged the principles behind UTS AERO LLC: resilience mission, clarity in systems, and a commitment to designing the future of aircraft towing systems, not just reacting to it.
The idea for UTS AERO’S groundbreaking AT1500 TOTO TOW did not come from a boardroom-it came from the tarmac. Drawing on personal experience with his own Turbo Mooney aircraft, Norman envisioned something more: a high-tech, modular solution built for precision, resilience, and real-world high-tech performance.
What started as a pilot’s problem with towing an aircraft became a platform for next-generation aircraft towing innovation. What began as a hand-drawn innovation sketch, born from operational insights on a Mooney airframe, progressed through CAD modeling, stress and torque simulations, test, and iterative CNC machining to produce the precision-engineered AT1500 TOTO TOW Towing System. This low-profile, high-efficiency advanced in-wheel high torque motor delivers immediate torque at low RPM’s enabling smooth, controlled towing even on
variable surfaces without sacrificing portability or field serviceability.
